About the Authors
After having experienced a nightmare that changed their lives forever, Phil and Karen Lazo have shared their deeply personal, heartbreaking, yet uplifting story with audiences in the United States and abroad. Thousands of people have been inspired by what God did in the Lazos lives, and have come to trust God more fully.
Phil earned his B.A. degree in Communication at Shippensburg University (PA). In addition to his career in sports broadcasting, Phil has served as a lay worship leader and team musician since 1995. He also served with the sports ministry International Sports Federation. Karen earned her B.A. in Education at Westminster College (PA) and her M.Ed. degree in counseling at the College of William and Mary (VA). She is currently a self-employed homemaker who has served as a counselor and a youth leader in her community. Phil and Karen have been happily married since 1991 and have two grown sons, two adopted Ukrainian daughters, and a daughter in heaven.
